After many trials we found that Buckfast Queens met all our requirements.  Starting with the imported Queen, we used her daughters, grand-daughters etc to breed from.  Our Queens have a renowed gentle nature, they 'over winter' well, produce large colonies, have excellent honey producing capabilities and low swarming tendencies.
